Recognising its historic foundation, our school will preserve and develop its religious character in accordance with the principles of the Church of England and in partnership with St Oswald's Church and at Diocesan level.
Our school aims to serve its community by providing an education of the highest quality within the context of Christian belief and practice. It encourages an understanding of meaning and significance of faith and promotes Christian Values through the experiences it offers its pupils.
At Flamborough we work closely with the members of St Oswald's who conduct collective worship once a week on specific themes chosen. We have collective worship every day which includes a hymn/ song, a section from the Christian Values programme which includes a reference to the Bible and a reflective period/ prayer.
In the Autumn term 2014, we conducted a survey which included pupils, staff, parents, governors and church members to look at choosing three to four Christian Values that reflect the school. The themes chosen were based on the 3 R's Resilience, Respect and Responsibility and we have put these together as a focus for the school.
We hold all end of term services at St Oswald's where parents are invited and a special programme is put together.
On the 23rd May 2016 we had our SIAMs inspection which gave us a GOOD in all areas.
