Areas for improvement from Ofsted

To improve pupils' attendance levels and eliminate persistent absence to make a positive difference

The school is still working hard to improve the overall attendance of the school. Attitudes amongst pupils have generally improved, however, percentage remain the same.

Identified areas from school

To improve progress in reading to be sustained and above national 

KS1 reading 71% at expected and 24% at greater depth

KS2 reading 92% at expected and 33% at greater depth

To improve progress in maths across the school

KS1 maths 76% at expected and 24% at greater depth

KS2 maths 100% at expected and 25% at greater depth

To improve attainment and rates of progress in writing across KS2

KS1 writing 71%  at expected and 24% at greater depth

KS2 writing 100% at expected and 17% at greater depth

To make maximum use of lesson time

The school is still looking at this as a focus 

Assessment objectives in Literacy and Maths need to be streamlined and split into single year groups

The school now has the right reports to use to show assessment and progress

Areas for inprovement from SIAMs

To strengthen SMSC by providing more requent atructured opportunities for children to plan and lead collective worship

Collective worship groups have been running this year and over half of the pupils have taken part in organising collective worship

To provide opportunities for learners to learn directly from members of a variety of world faiths.

The school has taken part in a visit to another school where a number of other faiths were represented
